Welcome to the IECP

If you are planning on attending Penn State or another American university but would like to improve your English, you’ve come to right place! Since 1976, the IECP has been Penn State’s premier intensive English program, offering courses in academic English to prepare the pre-matriculated student for undergraduate and graduate studies at an American university.  Experienced faculty engage students in a cutting-edge, comprehensive curriculum which includes grammar, oral communication, listening, reading, writing, and test skills in addition to providing opportunities to connect with current Penn State students and classes.

  • 10/30: Penn State COVID-19 dashboard updated On Oct 30, 2020 Penn State released its preliminary coronavirus testing results for the period of Oct. 23 to 29 on its COVID-19 dashboard today (Oct. 30). The University Park campus received 110 positive on-demand test results and 17 positive random test results from student testing during the period of Oct. 23 to 29.
  • Dates announced for spring 2021 semester 'wellness' days On Oct 29, 2020 To support the mental health and well-being of students, faculty and staff during the spring 2021 semester, Penn State will hold three wellness days on which no classes will be held.
  • Oct. 29 Barron webinar postponed On Oct 29, 2020 Due to a power outage at Penn State President Eric Barron's location, his Oct. 29 webinar has been postponed.
