Welcome to the IECP

If you are planning on attending Penn State or another American university but would like to improve your English, you’ve come to right place! Since 1976, the IECP has been Penn State’s premier intensive English program, offering courses in academic English to prepare the pre-matriculated student for undergraduate and graduate studies at an American university.  Experienced faculty engage students in a cutting-edge, comprehensive curriculum which includes grammar, oral communication, listening, reading, writing, and test skills in addition to providing opportunities to connect with current Penn State students and classes.

  • Heard on campus: Retired astronaut, Penn State alumnus Guion 'Guy' Bluford Jr. On Feb 14, 2019 Retired astronaut and Penn State alumnus Guion “Guy” Bluford Jr. recently presented a talk titled “STEM Forward: Minorities in Engineering” at Penn State Harrisburg. In his talk, Bluford discussed his space shuttle flights and the future of manned space flight. He also gave insight on his journey to obtaining a degree, and persevering and advancing in a science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) career.
  • THON weekend parking information and transit changes On Feb 14, 2019 The University has announced parking and traffic changes around this weekend's IFC/Pahellenic Dance Marathon to be held at the Bryce Jordan Center Feb. 15-17.
  • Penn State, higher ed community share concerns for proposed Title IX changes On Feb 13, 2019 Penn State joined colleges and universities around the country in providing feedback through several national education associations on proposed changes to Title IX regulations announced by the Department of Education in November.
