Welcome to the IECP

If you are planning on attending Penn State or another American university but would like to improve your English, you’ve come to right place! Since 1976, the IECP has been Penn State’s premier intensive English program, offering courses in academic English to prepare the pre-matriculated student for undergraduate and graduate studies at an American university.  Experienced faculty engage students in a cutting-edge, comprehensive curriculum which includes grammar, oral communication, listening, reading, writing, and test skills in addition to providing opportunities to connect with current Penn State students and classes.

  • Scheduled maintenance of Nittany Lion Shrine completed On Jul 02, 2020 Scheduled maintenance work on the Nittany Lion Shrine at University Park, which began June 1, was completed today (July 2). Conservation work to preserve the historic landmark included repairs to the right ear and some of the claws, as well as cleaning and protective treatment.
  • Penn State student dies of COVID-19 complications in Allentown On Jul 02, 2020 Penn State has learned through family and friends that Juan Garcia, a 21-year-old College of Earth and Mineral Sciences student from Allentown, died June 30 of respiratory failure and COVID-19. His death is the first known Penn State student death related to the coronavirus.
  • Transportation Services to resume on-campus operations July 6 On Jul 02, 2020 Transportation Services has received University approval to resume on-campus operations beginning Monday, July 6. In addition, normal campus parking regulations will resume for all campus parking areas and users (faculty, staff, students, visitors) on July 6.
