If you are planning on attending Penn State or another American university but would like to improve your English, you’ve come to right place! Since 1976, the IECP has been Penn State’s premier intensive English program, offering courses in academic English to prepare the pre-matriculated student for undergraduate and graduate studies at an American university.  Experienced faculty engage students in a cutting-edge, comprehensive curriculum which includes grammar, oral communication, listening, reading, writing, and test skills in addition to providing opportunities to connect with current Penn State students and classes.

  • Wrestling wins eighth NCAA title in last nine years On Mar 23, 2019 The Penn State Nittany Lions, under the guidance of head coach Cael Sanderson, entered the final session of the 2019 NCAA Championships having already clinched their eighth team title in the last nine years. Sanderson's squad left the National Finals and PPG Paints Arena with three individual national champions. Penn State won the 2019 crown by over 40 points.
  • McHugh becomes Penn State's first women's swimming and diving NCAA champion On Mar 23, 2019 Penn State senior captain Ally McHugh dominated the competition to take the national title for the 1650 freestyle Saturday evening at the NCAA Women's Swimming & Diving Championships, hosted by the University of Texas.
  • Promoting economic resilience in Appalachia: Lessons from successful communities On Mar 22, 2019 The Appalachian communities that enjoyed persistent economic growth following the 2008 Great Recession have a number of factors in common, according to researchers who analyzed all 420 counties in the Appalachian region. Their findings will help guide future economic development strategies across Appalachia.
