Welcome to the IECP

If you are planning on attending Penn State or another American university but would like to improve your English, you’ve come to right place! Since 1976, the IECP has been Penn State’s premier intensive English program, offering courses in academic English to prepare the pre-matriculated student for undergraduate and graduate studies at an American university.  Experienced faculty engage students in a cutting-edge, comprehensive curriculum which includes grammar, oral communication, listening, reading, writing, and test skills in addition to providing opportunities to connect with current Penn State students and classes.

  • Public invited as students present ideas for Musser Gap to Valleylands project On Apr 18, 2019 Penn State landscape architecture students will present five ideas for the Musser Gap to Valleylands project at a community conversation event from 6 to 8 p.m. on April 25 at the Foxdale Village auditorium, 500 E. Marylyn Ave., in State College. The event builds on two previous events that sought to engage the campus and local community in a dialogue about the project.
  • The Medical Minute: The importance of safely disposing of opioids On Apr 18, 2019 Cleaning out your medicine cabinet is about more than having a tidy bathroom. In an age of opioid addiction, it also can prevent leftover medications from getting into the wrong hands.
  • Park Avenue and other roads to be closed for April 26 Movin On' concert On Apr 17, 2019 Several roads, including Park Avenue from Bigler Road to University Drive, will be closed on Friday, April 26, for the Movin’ On concert at the IM Fields near East Halls on the University Park campus. The closures will begin at 3:30 p.m. and last until approximately 11:30 p.m.
