Welcome to the IECP

If you are planning on attending Penn State or another American university but would like to improve your English, you’ve come to right place! Since 1976, the IECP has been Penn State’s premier intensive English program, offering courses in academic English to prepare the pre-matriculated student for undergraduate and graduate studies at an American university.  Experienced faculty engage students in a cutting-edge, comprehensive curriculum which includes grammar, oral communication, listening, reading, writing, and test skills in addition to providing opportunities to connect with current Penn State students and classes.

  • Penn State remains a top university in the nation for international experiences On Dec 10, 2018 The Institute of International Education’s “Open Doors” report shows Penn State holding strong in study abroad and hosting international students and scholars. The University continues to be among the top 15 in the U.S. in hosting international students, and among the top 20 in sending students abroad.
  • Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Banquet to be held Jan. 15, 2019 On Dec 07, 2018 Tickets are available for the 44th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Banquet to be held Jan. 15, 2019, at the Bryce Jordan Center on Penn State’s University Park campus.
  • Patrick Jones appointed chancellor at Penn State Schuylkill On Dec 07, 2018 Patrick Jones, assistant vice president for academic affairs, online learning, at Drexel University, has been named chancellor at Penn State Schuylkill, effective Jan. 4, 2019. Jones has more than 30 years of experience in the field of education as an academic administrator, professor and band conductor, in addition to serving for 30 years in the U.S. Army and Air Force.
