The IECP Student Center provides an array of student services and opportunities for using English outside of the classroom, including tutoring, campus tours, art classes, and special activities, and much more!
All Student Center activities are free for IECP students!
Location and Hours
The Student Center is located immediately off the main entrance of the IECP on the fourth floor of the IECP Offices at 204 Wagner Building.
Regular opening hours for the Spring 2024 semester are: Mondays 8:30-10:30 and Fridays (9:00-11:00) (both by appointment). Please be sure to refer to the Activities Calendar for information about special events, as well as the IECP Facebook page and Instagram feed for updated announcements.
Tutoring Services
The Student Center offers the following tutoring services for IECP students:
- One-on-one tutoring
- Small-group (2-5 people) tutoring
- Large-group (20 people) workshops
- Drop-in tutoring
You can be matched with one tutor and have regular weekly sessions. You can form a group with other IECP students and work together with a tutor on a specific area. Tutoring session can cover a range of student needs such as:

Workshops
The Student Center organizes series of large-group and small-group workshops during each semester. Previous workshops that have been offered include topics such as:- “Pronunciation and Spelling”

Become a Tutor!
The Student Center generally recruits tutors during the last two weeks of the preceding semester and then continuously throughout the current semester. If you want to become a volunteer tutor, please email the Student Center Coordinator, McKenzie Spicer, at mps6729@psu.edu
Tutors
Tutors are experienced and enthusiastic! They are generally current IECP instructors (teaching assistants) and volunteer tutors (masters and undergraduate students with an interest in teaching ESL). The Student Center also collaborates with IECP faculty consultants to provide appropriate and relevant tutoring for IECP students.
